For our last semester project, we wanted to create a video where the visuals are driven by a voice-over dialogue and the shots would then be following a red thread without being bound by a chronological order. Inspired by the short films of Blender artist Exequiel Martina, our goal was to explore creative expressions that would resonate emotionally with the viewer. “Each of Us”, as we called it, is therefore a non-linear/anthology short film per say. Each scene itself didn’t need to physically align with the other scenes but rather have similar emotions attached to them that matched the voiceover.
In this project we wanted to blend live-action footage and blender footage into this surreal story in which anyone could see their own version of said story. With my friend and class mate Ragna Aasen doing the work in Blender, I worked with the other effects in Adobe After Effects as seen in my breakdown video.
